"Just the best cottage we have stayed in - in the most perfect location. Perfect for a relaxing holiday and respite from the hustle and bustle! Milk, biscuits etc. much appreciated! We love this Island so much and hope to make it our home in the future, for now holidays will have to suffice!
Recommend Godshill Model Village, the Old Battery at the Needles, Colwell Bay beach and too much more to write. We will be back without a doubt!!
PS: the Sunbo Chinese takeaway as recommended by Ian and Su was the nicest we have had in a long time!”

"This is the most beautiful place. Cottage has everything you could want and we felt right at home. We ate at the Highdown Inn, but preferred to make full use of cottage and garden. Walks on downs are wonderful with breathtaking views. Also went to Colwell Bay and Brook Beach – dogs loved it and to top off a wonderful two weeks, we had fantastic weather!
Will definitely come back.”

"Having holidayed in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man recently (already ‘done’ Orkney, Arran, Skye, Mull and the Outer Hebrides!) thought we’d try the Isle of Wight. Not disappointed – fantastic weather, arresting scenery, interesting places and a superb cottage. Much prefer this end of the Island and particularly enjoyed visits to Mottistone and Nunwell.
Enjoyed two meals at the Highdown Inn, but preferred evening meals here in the garden – too nice to move!”

"Lovely holiday, weather was excellent. Boris enjoyed the long, enclosed garden and the walks all around. Recommend the local pub, also the 'Piano Café' near Freshwater Bay.
If you have a dog, go to the 'Sun Inn' at Hulverstone where there is a dog menu on offer as well! Su and Ian have done a good job on the cottage.”

"This was by far the best cottage stay we have had with our three dogs. The cottage is cosy, well-equipped and perfectly formed. A lot of attention to detail has gone into making this a holiday home from home.
The dogs loved the garden and will miss it. Walks along the headland were bracing and beautiful. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this little treasure and will return for certain.
Just a fabulous break. Thank you!!"

"Our first visit and it’s been fantastic – thanks to Ian and Suzanne for being great hosts. We all loved the walks up and down Tennyson Down and over to Alum Bay. Would highly recommend the Sun Inn at Hulverstone near Brook Chine, great food and very welcoming for us and Jasper – they do doggy menus and biscuits!
Alverstone Barns and Farmer Jacks is worth a shot - fresh farm produce was lovely!! Another good walk to St Catherines Point with a stop in the Buddle Inn – again dog friendly.
Hope to be back soon! Cottage and garden just perfect – Jasper took to running from from one end to the other!"

"Thank you Ian and Su for making our stay in your delightful cottage so welcome. Nice safe garden for our two dogs to roam (Alf spotted a couple of rabbits enjoying the March sun). Couldn’t have asked for better weather after the awful rain we have had, so we were able to take the dogs out on lovely walks. Many thanks also for the lovely chocolate biscuits etc you left.
We would definitely love to visit your lovely cottage again if we come back to the Island."

A big thank you to Jodie who wrote this lovely review in our visitors book:

"What a lovely cottage, we all loved how much space there was to do everything we needed to do. We loved how close the beach was to the cottage and we went to a different beach every day. Most days the tide was in so much we could not see the sand, but we walked along the lovely coastal paths which were just as good.
We had some great days out to all the attractions and we can't wait to come back very soon. We have all loved staying at this wonderful little cottage.
P.S. There were some great walks for our dog Gumbo.
Thanks so much."

"Despite the weather we have had a really good break, the cottage is perfect, Su and Ian have just about thought of everything you could need for an enjoyable holiday. The cottage is well-equipped and WiFi good reception. We enjoyed dog walks along the downs at the back of the house to the Needles, the walk along the estuary to Yarmouth, walk to St Catherines lighthouse, sea cliff walk near Brighstone
Pubs/cafes to enjoy: 'Barefoot on the Beach', Colwell Bay - great location. 'French Franks', Newport (near farmers market, church) - excellent value. 'Crab Shack', Steephill Cove - excellent crab salad. 'High Down Inn' - good beer. 'Buddle Inn', Niton - great pub.
Hope to come again!! Will recommend to family and friends"

Cosy but roomy and safe for Hollie (Hollie is blind). Compton Bay is a must (great rocks) and cream tea/coffee at Chessell Pottery is an excellent sub for the breakfast you didn't quite get up in time for. Tennyson Down: marvellous. This is the diary of Molly the Toy Poodle who stayed in Little Moon Cottage with her owners:

My first visit to the Isle of Wight - and I have loved it! I've kept A&M fit chasing them up and down the long garden in between stopping to sniff at all the new smells! I've taken them on long walks along the Downs and coastal paths - allowing them frequent rests at pubs and cafes. I especially liked the following where I was made very welcome: The Highdown Inn (up the lane), The Dandelion Cafe (Freshwater Bay), The Buddle Inn (near Niton), Baywatch on the Beach (St Helens), Barefoot on the Beach (Colwell Bay).
I had some fun exploring Carisbrooke Castle - especially dragging A&M very fast up lots of steps to walk along the ramparts! They enjoyed Mottistone Manor Gardens - I enjoyed the cafe in the garden and the walk around the Estate. A&M like birdwatching so I took them on two walks - Yarmouth to Freshwater along the River Yar Estuary and back through fields and woods - saw a red squirrel - I was quiet and didn't chase it (would have been in the bad books!) The Red Lion in Freshwater has a lovely garden.
Very windy the day we walked to the bird hides at Newtown, but sunny. Only one day of full rain in two weeks, so A&M happy that I wasn't wet and smelly all the time!!
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have.
Thank you Ian and Suzanne.
Love Molly (and A&M) xxx

Thanks for a great stay."

"This is our first time at renting a cottage and what a find. Have booked for next year already!! Amazing sunny and hot week :-)
We arrived to find Suzanne and Ian at the gates to welcome us. Welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits, milk etc - very welcome. The cottage lives up to all expectations and more. Really don't want to go home :-(
There's nothing we could fault. Amazing inside and out. The path to the Needles is wonderful - if you walk to the old battery you can catch the open decker bus home. If you walk in the other direction you will experience a lovely walk to Freshwater Bay where the views are amazing and there's a big area for dogs on the beach.
Watch out for all the wildlife in the garden. Loved having the fairy lights on of an evening in the conservatory - seriously thinking about squatting!!
Suzanne and Ian couldn't do enough and always at the end of the phone for advice. To all the visitors yet to come - enjoy this wonderful place - but ssshhh...don't tell too many people about our secret haven!!!
Happy holidays everyone and a big thank you to Suzanne and Ian."

"We could write so much about this holiday; how wonderful the cottage is, the gorgeous garden and its wildlife visitors, how fantastic the Isle of Wight is for early morning runs and peaceful walks, how it is worth visiting the smaller beaches to find fossils and dinosaur foot casts, but really all we need to say is the next time we visit the Isle of Wight we won't need to search for a property. There is only one place we want to stay - Sunbeam Cottage.
Thank you."

"I feel compelled to write and say how much we enjoyed a recent visit to the island. I have been wanting to visit for a long time.
